Following historic railway lines, where many old station sites can still be seen, the Murray to Mountains Rail Trail winds its way through the beautiful alpine valleys of North East Victoria.
The Alpine Shire commissioned Interpretive by Design (IxD) to guide visitors from the township of Bright, to the trail entrance through interpretive signage structures, engaging potential users with directional, cultural and historical information.
Design inspiration was drawn from the historical tracks and IxD collaborated with a talented local blacksmith to put a contemporary spin to the structures with train track materials of rusted steel, bolts and hardwood (track sleeper) pylons.
